I Need Another Job... Or Three

I went to the university hospital this morning cos it's the closest to me to make an ob/gyn appt and all I could afford to do was take a slip. Booking at the hospital side is literally my entire pay cheque for a MONTH. That's just booking. The fee altogether is 2 or 3 times that. I didn't even bother asking about the private side. I need to check a hospital that is entirely government run, scary as those may be.

I am sorry it cost so much to get to see a doctor.

I M not sure how the healthcare system works in Jamica but is there a government agency that could help with your medical bills.

Yeah, financing healthcare is a major stressor. It just shouldn't be that way and it makes me sad and angry that some really privileged people don't understand the struggle.

I have upcoming health stuff and won't be able to work as much. Trying to figure out how to finance everything and I'm going to have to get creative. And ask my brothers for help.

In public hospitals healthcare is generally free but the problem with that is that they are pretty full and the service is not necessarily as good as private/semi-private hospitals. I did some research and it turns out that the entire fee covers all the ob/gyn visits (roughly 6 unless there are complications), lab work, screening and the delivery unless it's Cesarean. I guess in the long run it pays off because from what I've read the service is really good, the wards are well-kept which is a major issue here and I have never head of mistreatment unlike at the public hospitals. I'm going to try to afford to go to the university hospital because I need a hospital that is close to me and it's roughly 5 minutes away plus if the need arises I think they'll be much more willingly to work alongside my tdoc and/or pdoc. I really wish I was working full-time then I would be making at least twice as much.
