I'm going through depression right now. I get confused easily when I'm stressed. I was called to jury duty earlier this month. I went to the orientation and thought I understood what to do. I was on jury duty 2 times several years ago in a different county. This county does things a little differently. I thought the line you call to see if they need you the next day was the same for everyone. I realized to tonight there were separate lines for reg. jurors, special, grand, etc. I had been calling the line for regular jurors when I should been calling the 1 for special. They might of called my number and I didn't know it because I'm an idiot! I could be in a lot of trouble. I will call them tomorrow to explain what happened. I'm so scared! I wish I could die(naturally).
You are not an idiot. I think a lot of people would have been confused. Besides do you really care deep down inside that you missed jury duty? It is less offensive to me than downloading free music. ROFL
Do they pay you? Exactly.
I was excused last year based on my writing on the form that the trial would risk throwing me in another depression that I was just coming out of, and that it also would cause a financial hardship.
I disagree with juice though that it is not our civic duty, but only if it does not cause a hardship.
