So every since my Freshman year in high school (I am a sophomore in college now) I have had HORRIBLE winters. Mostly it was because of depression (one year it was anorexia). I thought this winter would be better. I'm on the right meds and I haven't been depressed in 7 moths. Oh how wrong I was. Here is a run down of my winter so far:
1. Diagnosed with BP
2. Had to talk my friend down from suicide and call the police on him
3. Had a messy boy situation. In which my heart came pretty close to breaking
4. Found out the woman I have known since I was 3 has breast cancer
5. I was rear ended on Tuesday
6. Today I as merging on the highway when another car decided to change lanes into me.. In order to avoid a crash I swerves and end up spinning 360 degrees off the highway down a hill and smashing into some trees.
So much for a good winter.

depressed! It's O.K. to get depressed...just
don't get discouraged and give up! You said
you were pretty stable on meds. Have you talked
to your pDoc about possible "Seasonal Affective
Disorder?" ( S.A.D. ) People who suffer from
it get much more depressed in the winter months
It has something to do with the way the suns
rays hit the earth.
C'mon Gang help me out a little here! My
seroquel gives me a lot of word finding
problems!
I'm ready for a more simple life myself. I HATE winter, I have for years now. Escaping winter is the best way to deal with it. Or the best I've found. I'm looking for something more permanent now.

How stupid were our ancestors for stopping HERE! Jesus, they could have taken a left and headed south just as easily. Fools.
All you can do is take it one day at a time...it sounds like you probably do have a touch of S.A.D. Hopefully you'll start to feel better when we have the time change again and the sun stays out longer...I know my mood improves some once we're back to having longer daylight hours.
Thinking California, feeling Minnesota... More cold air coming in for next weekend, oh joy!
Living in Edmonton (Canada) we get very little sun in the winter.I hear you loud and clear.
I've used the sun panel off and on in past years, with no difference. This year, I've used it religiously, and, wow! I function. Almost as well as a, what was the term..? Oh, yes. Almost as well as a Normie!
and to have a whole mess load of events that happen around the same time, some under one's control and some not, would be just overwhelming to me.
however, i don't think i hate winter, or blame events on winter, as the snow can be very calming. but when that artic blast blows in, it's a different story.
