I've never had one before and honestly I don't even remember the majority of the event. I noticed that I felt twitchy and was having muscle spasms, but I thought that was just EPS from my psych meds.
From here on out, I don't really remember much. This is all according to my mother, who told me all of this later last night, and this morning.
Evidently, I fell over on my side and started thrashing around and convulsing and drooling on myself, and then after about 45 seconds I became unconscious.
My mum was gonna start CPR and call 911, but then she noticed my chest was heaving up and down, which meant that I was still breathing and not dead.
Also I guess I must've still had some temporary brain impairment immediately after I regained some level of consciousness, because she asked me if I knew my own name, and I did, but then she asked, "Do you know who I am?" and "Do you know where you are?" and I said, "I don't know" to both questions.
I didn't recognize her as a member of the same species, either. At one point I was picking up her arms and examining them, and looking at her like she was an alien. (which I also don't remember.)
And I was sleepy for hours afterwards and couldn't wake up to save my life. (pun not intended)
So yea. Pretty scary stuff. I've never had a seizure before, let alone a grand mal seizure. But it's also really weird to think that all of that happened, because my memory got wiped out during the event.

Mom and I have errands to run this morning. She said we can get sushi for lunch though. I go back to work today. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Quick, before the evil MONday gets here! Let's climb those mountains, dance in the meadows, dip our feet in the ocean....Okay, so most of us won't be doing any of That. Sadly. But today can still be a great day!The area behind our back fence is on an incline, with less than two feet on even ground at the top. I don't balance well enough for the incline, but our mower guy mows that...

Glad you got it sorted.
I'm taking my Depakote more diligently now, I'm up to 1,000mg daily of the stuff as of my last pdoc visit a few days ago.
Because Depakote is also used to treat seizures and epilepsy.
I might schedule a doctor's appointment... whenever we can afford to take me to the doctor, next. Sigh. Also I'm anxious to tell him about it, because I'm on tramadol which lowers your seizure threshold, and I'm worried that I'll get yanked off of it.
neither you or she know whether it is life threatening. Epilepsy does kill and so do brain tumours. Both cause seizures.
