YOU know i went to an appt on friday 24 slightly aggitated/hypomanic

irrational basically and discharged myself on the basis that i was going to cambridge going to become a solicitor and live the most beautiful life imaginable and that i could not fathom why i was in the room.


the woman didnt even realise (i can now in retrospect) HOW irrational i was.
my mum was sat there gobsmacked i didnt even get a followup

It's variable. Some places the mental health services are very good. Some places not so.

I got excellent treatment once I got my BP diagnosis. I got my aspie stuff sorted real quick too.

I think it's more the region than my age and gender. It's something I've discussed with other brits - some who are inside the NHS, some on this board.

Re the borderline thing - this was because I suggested that was how you might be diagnosed and the reason for your treatment at the time.

I was trying to warn you against a suicide attempt to try and get treatment because that would make people would realise it was not genuine and take that as evidence you were borderline.

I was talking about perceptions in the psychiatry depts of the NHS based on conversations with them - just that.

assuming the NHS route is stalled for the moment - there are some CBT books for Bipolar that might help. I have one here but it's just turned invisible.

Might allow you to work on stuff in a structure yourself?
