Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Sounds pretty aggressive right? It's not meant to. But I am very opinonated. I always laugh when people tell me I need to go in for the slightest sniffle or the slightest cough. My body rejects antibiotics so its no use for me. However, I know bi-polar runs in my family. I know the signs and symptoms. I know people are affected differently by it. I am 100% sure I have it. Its not an uncommon thing.....You definitely can't catch it like the flu. However, I don't need to waste hundreds of dollars to be tested. I'm not stupid, I know that there is something more wrong with me than just having anxeity and depression. I'm also not saying you're stupid for being tested. I'm proud of you. Yay you. You're acknowleding that you need to take care of your mental health and I respect that. However, I don't feel that I need to do the same because I know what's going on with me.

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

I assume you are not on meds. Have you considered them?
Get to talk with someone who can help.
Unfortunately....I don't think you mentioned having a Ph.D or an M.D. so I don't think you can diagnose yourself or prescribe yourself the medications needed to control the "self diagnosed" BiPolar symptoms and get to a point of stability. So you can actually function in the world we live in.
We go to a Psychiatrist so they can determine what Mental Disorder, out of many that have similar symptoms we have so that they can then prescribe medications, therapy, coping skills...all those necessary things needed to get the symptoms under control and get us to a point of stability.
Soooo, perhaps you might just want to go see a Dr. who specializes in Mental Health and actually find out what is wrong and what can be done so your life might be lived a little easier.
So the whole point of being "tested" is to reduce the symptoms that over a lifetime can destroy your career, relationships and happiness. And increases your chances of that life being a lot shorter.
So yay me for having the sense to get the diagnosis and treatment.
There is good treatment for the disorder and we have a really treatable disorder
Your post does read sort of angry and aggressive … That may ?? be a symptom ? perhaps?
This is a good board with some great people..... Big hug.....xo
