Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I have gotten the feeling in my veins before but worse... I had it bad in the veins in my neck, my inner elbow, and my wrists and I kept getting flashes of cutting them open, which made me cringe and freak out.
Man, nights are terrible for me, I feel anxious and lonely like I have been lately. Scared even.
Maybe I should just take an anti anxiety pill and go to bed... sleep if I can.
I have trouble at night time too with paranoia and anxiety and I always have my klonopin handy, I just took one actually. Just hand out here with us and keep posting so you don't feel so alone.....it helps me out alot!
I'm going to take the med and come back.
My philosophy right now is work on myself everyday and get better and better and healthier and go to therapy and work on all my issues and learn to be happy on my own and make myself feel happy not needing anyone else to do so. To be independent.
Yet, I want someone to be there for me. Like a significant other.....
THe right man will come along when it's meant to happen, I truly believe that!!
I have great family and friends though... they keep me on my toes.
But when I fail... I get really down on myself and feel like "such and idiot" I say that all the time.
I don't realize that I'm only human and everyone makes mistakes like these not just 'ol bipolar me.
My biggest problem is my insecurities and me putting myself down and being hard on myself all the time.
I don't know if this is why I have so much anger, agitation, and anxiety or if it's my medication.
We have alot to deal with at times...and it's easy to slip into that "beat yourself up mode". Takes work but realizing we do it is the first step in fixing it right!!?
But I have a lot to be grateful for. Which keeps me positive. I have a great family, very supportive, I have few friends but they are great ones and very supportive and caring. I live with my family, but which they live in a beautiful home, I am very fortunate for that. Well educated (up until now, I find I am unable to learn) And you know..... charisma, charm, looks..... not that it all works out in my favor all the time. I'm also gullable and naive... definitely very gullable... and trusting!! Ah...! Turns out badly for me.
I like myself.. I guess I just wish I were perfect... or better.
Never good enough really. It's sad. I focus on the bad stuff most times and just feel insecure.
What's the cure?
Love... that's what I think... it's just hard to forgive and love yourself sometimes.
I wake up every day and repeat to myself the things in my life I am grateful for.....I think that is so important to do....really helps me out when I start that negative self talk too!
I have body image issues and just... image issues and I don't think I'll ever be able to say "beautiful". There are too many things wrong and unattractive about me.
I don't know why I say that when I can look in the big picture and see I'm not that bad. But still... just not good enough.
Or when I'm in a real negative mood... anything that comes up I say to myself "it'll never happen" "why even try? you're going to fail" "they'll never accept you" "that kind of guy would want more from a girl rather than me" "you're dumb" "you're brain doesn't work" "you're not intelligent" "sufferr!!" "you're appearance is hideous in everyway" "ugly hair, crooked nose, bad skin, weird body... unattractive."
It's sick!
At night I worry I will never overcome these things. That I will end up living in a one bedroom apartment, living on ssi money, no hobbies, no friends just one big fat loser who never did anything with her life.
What I want is to live up to my potential. Before all this bipolar news, I was an impressive human being, great girl, ready to take on the world. Now I'm dumb and have no motivation, no ambition. If I don't seek my true potential, I will forever be a loser.
I also can't remember what I did 5 minutes ago. That really gets in my way.
Good luck, I hope you feel better.
