I had my hysterectomy almost 7 weeks ago and honestly haven't felt up to posting until now. I've had so much brain fog it's been hard to concentrate on even writing down my thoughts.I just wanted to say thanks so much for all your comments the night before my surgery. They meant a lot.
I'm doing better but it has been an adventure. I lost more blood than normal during the surgery so I had to get a blood transfusion which of course I freaked out about. I went for my 6 week post op check last week and the doctor said I'm healing but slowly. She has me off work for another 4 weeks.
My main struggle right now is balancing my hormones. The doctor had me on an estrogen patch right after surgery and about a week ago my anxiety shot through the roof. It was nothing I'd ever felt before. I felt like I took too much adderall. She lowered my dose and that feeling has been better. I've also been put on a thyroid med for an under active thyroid and Prilosec for acid reflux that has happened post op. Ugh!!
I'm doing ok mentally but it's hard being bi polar with all the hormone issues now and the hypothyroid problem to know whats causing what. Anyway, I'm glad to be back on here and thanks again for the support!

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

Hang in there and take it easy.
Suncloud, I was put on an estrogen patch and really struggled with the way it made me feel. I'm going to see if there is something else that will work for me.
