Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Last several years I was too depressed to move. then the past few days, I had been elevated to a place of hope and motivation - thoroughly out of my depression, then a few hours ago, I got slammed back down to a pretty solid depression for triggers both inside and outside myself. Is this normal, or should I do something about it (if there is anything to do?
Having some suicidal THOUGHTS, but NO INTENTION WHATSOEVER to carry them out.
Again is this an idiosyncrasy of my own, or does anyone else share a similar experience?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Definitely not exclusive to you, it's called rapid cycling. It's a hard one to deal with. Rapid cyclers can show signs in many different ways. A lot of bipolars only have one manic episode in a year or two but then have the depression last the whole time in between the manic episodes.
Some people have the episodes maybe once a month. Rapid cyclers, which I am, can cycle on a daily or weekly basis. For me I can cycle 10-30 times a day. Let me tell you, on my bad days I am exhausted at the end of the day from all the cycling. It's up, get things done, buzz around busy, trying to conquer the world, then bam next thing I know is my stomach is sick and in knots and I am bawling my eyes out wanting to die.
Can be like that for an hour or a day, then poof back up I go. I have really been called crazy when people around me witness these extreme, quick mood changes.
You should keep track of your cycles, just write down when you are up and what feelings you are experiencing. I would do that for a couple weeks then go to pdoc and talk to them about it. It might just be that your meds need to be tweaked.
I hope that's all it is for you because I still haven't found a medication to really get me even. Unfortunately I have been in a bad cycle since last November and got so bad in March that I had to go out on disability. I also have narcolepsy and that is a pretty devastating disorder to have as well, it just gets me more depressed then what I thought was humanly possible. I barricaded myself in my room about a month ago to "think" whether I wanted to end it or not.
It's probably one of the hardest things to deal with when you rapid cycle. And that brings me to the question of the triggers. I have them, I think all bipolar people do. But what I noticed is that I don't have a clue most days when I am going up or down, there aren't any triggers. It just happens.
I hope you get this figured out and find something to help slow your cycles down.
Good Luck,
Kimmers
I hope you feel better soon..x
Ultra cycling is RARE .....I mean rare like one in tens of thousands .
Mixed episodes on the other hand are more common, and that's probably what rapid cyclers are experiencing .
Anyway you cut it , it all hurts and suxs !
Up and down all day every day throughout the day.
It sucks.
