Back story quick: I been unmediated and untreated for my anxiety disorder and bi polar for the last 4 years, which cause a lot of miss work and just plan ick.

So I decide to reach out and made an appointment at a primary care doctor to get a referral to see a mental health doctor or something, I am just taking the steps I was told to take. So I made this appointment and now I have anxiety over going to the appointment I made for my anxiety. Makes sense, huh.

Sorry to hear that you're going through this anxiety. Are you afraid of reaching out because of the stigma?

I feel that mental health conditions are becoming more and more acceptable in society. These conditions are health conditions after all, just like any other condition such as cancer, heart disease or diabetes. I am certain that your specialist will have seen many patients suffering from the same condition, or related conditions.

I think its the unknown, not knowing what to expect. that stigma a big part of why I don't seem help though and I don't tell anyone or my job but my husband, sister and mom. My job is the biggest source of all my problems but money has to be made.

I understand. The fact that you made the appt tho is a serious step toward change for the better. I know it's hard to go to appts. but you can do this. Just think about what good could come from it. I will be thinking of you and sending positive thoughts.

I agree with MayB, you're taking all the right steps Lea. I know that dealing with anxiey is very hard. I have three anxiety disorders and believe me, I know all about dealing with some intense anxiety. I hope that you recieve the help that you deserve.

That does make sense to me. I've been needing to make an appointment for a regular doctor for a physical for a long time but my fear and anxiety keep me from making the appointment. I'm worried about what he could say and what could be wrong with me and I fear the worst. Sorry your dealing with these anxiety problems but I do think its good that you actually made the appointment. A step in the right direction. I wish you well.
