I am coming off of Geodon, and I experience hot flashes mixed with chills all day, but especially in the morning. When I was coming off of Risperdal (another atypical anti-psychotic), I had the same, only much worse. Neither drug was on a high dose. Anybody else had this withdrawal effect?

What's your reason for coming off the geodon if you don't mind me asking? After 3 months of being on it,I developed a reaction to it. I suffered terrible lower extremity edema, which has taken months to rid with diurectics.The only other reported case of such a reaction was in a woman from Taiwan who suffered the same.

I missed one day of Lprazepam and woke up all night with nightmares and that's only 1mg!

I got off Geodon because it was making me really sleepy (as in I lied on the floor in my office to nap 1-2h), and that totally randomly, it'll do it on a (e.g.) Tuesday and Friday, but not other days, weird. I figured I'd rather chance Seroquel and the depression it gives me.

I had the exact problem coming off risperidal, it was very bad withdrawl. It passes after about five days I think. Sendin you hugs.

I had it really bad with Risperdal, and it lasted a month. It was scary. Now it's been a week or so, and it's pretty much OK.

I take geodon now, am not quitting, and have the same hot flashes and chills. I thought I had contracted the flu the other week they were so bad. They seem to come in spurts, random too. Also with geodon, I grind my teeth at night. It is a weird one for sure.
