Is this you?
Are you easily overwhelmed by such things as bright lights, strong smells, coarse fabrics, or sirens nearby?
Do you get rattled when you have a lot to do in a short amount of time?
Do you make a point of avoiding violent movies and TV shows?
Do you need to withdraw during busy days, into bed or a darkened room or some other place where you can have privacy and relief from the situation?
Do you make it a high priority to arrange your life to avoid upsetting or overwhelming situations?
Do you notice or enjoy delicate or fine scents, tastes, sounds, or works of art?
Do you have a rich and complex inner life?
When you were a child, did your parents or teachers see you as sensitive or shy?
IT'S ME all right. I'm not neurotic after all. I'm just trying to take care of myself so I don't get overwhelmed. I process and reflect on more than most people and all of these nuances can lead to overload. Just ordered the book. There's a workbook also. And online support groups.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I can't stand loud sounds or noise of any kind. And almost anything qualifies as noise these days. Of course I live alone so silence is golden.
Although I can identify with some of the list, I don't think it applies to me. Loud and obnoxious voices are often a trigger for me but isn't that true for everyone?
As always - wishing you success.
Just yesterday, the receptionist where I work avoided a flash bulb as it went off and often will sit in the dark during lunch; she will complain sometimes of migraines.....
My daughter is like this very much. She likes some scary movies, on occasions. She has issues with sounds and textures.
