i dont have any anti anxiety medication. do you think that would help?
i'm scared to talk to my doctor sometimes.. my mom takes control of those apts.
thank you for your replies!!!
Geesh..you are certainly old enough to try and get a handle on YOUR BP..besides..I know I could never open up to my Pdoc completely ,if my mom was in the room...you need your space and set some boundries ,It's only fair to you.
With mom ,it may be she is getting over involved with your sessions?
Gren, as for having your mother handle your appointments, perhaps you can "ween" away slowly so you feel safe. Every other appointment first, then perhaps every 4th appt., until you are in charge of your own care with your pdoc.
It is your decision, but I would not have had my mother involved for anything to protect her from seeing my pain...but I was much older when I got the right dx.
My pdoc kept telling me "Oh you need to stay on it. This Abilify is good stuff. It's specifically for BP." Bullshit. If it does not help, I don't care if the pharmaceutical companies tailored it for my body directly, I won't take it!
Good luck
