Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Well, here's my *BUMP* to try again.
First thing I can suggest is she talk to her pdoc about a mood stablaizer. Second she needs to continue with the behavior therapy. Sorry I cant help much more with this.
I don't have BPD.
So I don't know if the impatience is a BPD trait ?
Ok, thanks for responding to this (although my stupid mind thought people would respond inside our actual origional post)... Even my "Borderline" shows through me inside the [sometimes] f-d up site.
As someone who "Finally" is taking the "reality" of being mentally-ill, I try very hard to keep myself under "Control" and definatly that way in "society"....
I am very aggitated easily, have tremendous mood swings (hourly), and depression (though consistant on a "medium bases) when NOT under some other extream, is very bad when it's the extream mood/emotion/etc. Cause it also couples with Impulse tremendously (2 suicide attempts were not pre-idealised/thought out, severe depression drop and impulse was, WHY WAIT)
Ya, so how do you know? HOW THE HECK DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING!!! Someone tells you? Maybe, I was told 15-20 years ago, and even my "syptom" of not following through/getting help has been re-proved since then until now (Now I want help and it ain't available)
So's ya'll in this place get to hear my struggle out loud with myself, trying SO F-IN hard to be heard/understood/Etc to infinity....
I'm burning up inside right now, with a big ol mind-racing burn that I think I got smoke coming outta my nose.
I'm gonna have a smoke and "cool" down.
My six year old has impulse control problems. I wont put her on ADHD medicine I refuse to. What I have found is she is like her mother extreamly intelligent but unable to use that constructivly. Look for outlets that dip into your strengths and extra energy.
BUT,they are 2 VERY different types of DX.
Biopolar ,is a chemical imbalance in the brain, that has a variety of triggers, that will set the chemicals into an imbalnced episode.Hence, meds are used to "stabilize" a person who is BP.It is ORGANIC in nature.
Boarder Line Personality Disorder..is a personality trait,NOT usually something treated (at least not with the same meds)medically with drugs.
BPD,is a defect(not my words..I Googled BPD)in a persons basic personality.Other disorders of the same nature ,would be Hystoronic,Narsacistic,Dependent.
I understand ,you want to help your friends, but BP,and BPD are treated differently.
BP,with meds
BPD with phycotherapy.....
I wish the best for your friends
