Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Had a nice long chat with my pdoc last week and what do you know- she finally prescribed me anti-depressants. Ironically I'm not feeling remotely depressed right now so I don't need to take them just yet. I wish she had done this two weeks ago or before the suicide attempt. Meh. Oh well, at least now I've got them.
It's been a while since I've been in this good a mood for this long. It's refreshing and awesome and insanely... overwhelming. No more faking smiles and laughs and forcing myself to keep going- I'm in a good place. I was kinda hypo for a while but I managed not to do anything I'd regret. So enjoying this feeling. And I'm happy that I'm doing this without meds. This is all me baby :-)
How've you all been?

Many people with bipolar can't take AD's due to making them manic... I would just monitor yourself closely sweetie... It's great that you're feeling better though...xo

My experience with ADs is that it takes awhile to get pushed into a higher mood, maybe months, so be aware. I'm glad you're feeling in a good place just be ready for the other shoe to drop.

You have to be on an AD usually about two weeks to feel any difference. So if you think this mood won't last I would go ahead and start taking them anyways and like suncloud said just be aware of any mania while on them. Glad to hear your feeling good!!

That was the case with my Citalopram.

I'm glad you got something from her. Like everyone else said, be aware of mania.

Glad your pdoc finally came around! Too bad it wasn't when you needed it!! But like SunCloud said, be careful with ADs but start taking them soon - even if you're in a fine mood - for they won't start to work for awhile.

She doesn't really think I'm bipolar so I guess we can understand the AD prescription. It's a once a week dosage which might be good, I dunno. I'll watch out for the full blown mania.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
