Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I had my second appointment with my pdoc today. I have been seeing a psychologist since July 2013. I am just getting comfortable with my tdoc. It's hard because he is male and I have a history of sexual abuse and incest by men. I choose a male therapist I guess as sort of a immersion thing. It has been difficult at times but I like him.
As like most places psychiatrists are hard to come by and I was given 3 referral and he was the only one able to see me. He is very nice. But I just hate going there. Well the first time was ok. I was really nervous but it was ok. Now comes the stupid part. I hate that he asks all those questions. Wants to know how my moods have been. Anxiety? Depression? Irritable? How is work? How is home? I just want to tell him to shut up and stop pestering at me. The problem is that he is just doing his job.
I get overwhelmed with trying to decide if I am less depressed. I struggle to make a decision about what to wear let alone decide exactly how it is i have been feeling. My feelings change so quickly. What if I give the wrong answer???? I think I have been less depressed. I filled out one of those things where you rate how you feel. It is similar to a depression screen. I feel like I filled it out all wrong.
Anyway he is increasing the lamictal to 100 mg a day. He thinks it may be enough. He said I could add another 50mg after 2 weeks if I don't notice a change. I go back to him in 4 weeks.
Ugh....I just want my tdoc to talk to him for me.
Anyone else have a problem talking to their pdoc?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

treatment. Maybe talk to your tdoc about your response to the pdoc but I'd say the problem is yours. Been there, done that.
Perhaps your trust issue seems like something that might be better worked on by you and someone you trust.
Building a strong Pdoc relationship is hard enough as it is without such a high existing barrier.
I would keep the pursuits separate if I could.
Just a thought.
Much luck no matter what,

It wouldn't offend him... It's not personal or even about him...It's about how you're coping...It will be giving him a little more insight...x
Damn....heck of a tangent I just went off on.....
Anyway. i don't know the pdoc very well and i am afraid of making him angry or dislike me.
