Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I’ve been struggling a while now. My moods have been all over the place and I’ve been having a fair amount of emotional outbursts and can't seem to ever focus. I've been growing more concerned because I can feel a manic phase coming. I've been slipping for a few weeks with my anorexia recovery and I don't think a manic episode will help. I've contacted my psychiatrist but it's taking some time to make an appointment. So far, they don't necessarily want to do any med adjustment since I very recently had one. I feel like I can't get out of my own head.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo
I have found Michael Sealey's guided meditations on YouTube to help sleep and calm over active mind. I try to take my meds on time (Leave it next to coffee maker and take it AM). For past 4 months, I have been pretty regular. have also started reading books again, which was a passion of mine and doing daily breathing exercises as suggested by lady who answered suicide hotline one night and she was right. She asked me what I was doing for self care- and I had no reply. Since then, stretching, taking meds on time, talking dogs for walk, taking hot/cold baths, positive self talk. Acknowledging when I have angry outburst ( I really struggle with this) and forgiving myself and asking for forgiveness and moving on. People in my world know I've had a head trauma. Doesn't excuse my behavior but at this point, It happens at times and don't recall next day. I use to be so completely ruined and ashamed by this following day after discovering random texts, emails, voicemails, etc. but positive self talk helps. None of us chose this life. For better or worse, it was assigned to us. Now we have to make the best of it. We are MORE alert then the average person. And that's OK in my book so long as we harness all of our "excitement"
The sooner you realize most "normal" people also struggle in their own lives without any mental health diagnoses and with MUCH greater issues, the better off you will be. WE have chosen to KNOW about our illness whether directly or indirectly, these folks are miles behind. With this knowledge, we can do so much better. But it's up to you.
What are you doing to love yourself, be kind to yourself and acknowledge your outbursts? If you think about it long enough, you'll start noticing patterns. Certain things trigger us. If so, we have to learn when to walk away. Hope I haven't overstepped my boundaries with you but your post reminded me of myself.
Sending hugs and well wishes your way.
These are such anxious times... I feel for you.... xo
