Most of society doesn't even know who we are. You're welcome to your thoughts, of course, but don't hold them too long. Not every suicide is a BP. People who use meds for heart conditions also die. Don't take it so personal!

I guess I feel different because I have to take meds to be a normal person. I don't exactly like this situation but there is nothing I can do about it. I'm taking a lesson learned and the less people that know I take meds the better, then I can pass off as normal. Except I only require 2 hours of sleep and sometimes none at all. Little hypo today.

I know that sometimes, it will feel that way. The pharmeceutical companies make lots of money with the medication. They sell. We have this entire model of when someone is sick, we give them meds-for every need, not just madness.

Now, I'm not saying that we don't need meds, but you have to understand that our situation fits into the great money making machine-a machine that is impersonal.

Further, neuroscience is very new. The doctors are trying drugs which affect the human brain-sometimes in ways that they don't entirely understtand. 'We as humans are just now understanding what chemicals do what in the brain--dopamine, noreprenepherine and such--adrenalin.

Yes-modern society wants a "quick fix" for the problem. Thus, the primitive nature of neuroscience, profit and a quick fix all fit neatly into the package of psychiatry.

No-Large scale problems need large scale solutions, so governments and scientists just throw the meds out there and throw disclaimers out there. If they wanted to weed us out-well--something else would have been done.

I don't feel like a reject... I actually believe we are better than a lot of people in the so called 'normal society'.... well I feel I am better than... more caring and insightful for a start

I wish I could believe that society could be that cohesive. But I don't. I see society more as an out of control boulder crashing mindlessly down a mountainside. We just got dinged on its way down. Nothing personal. The best we can do is care enough to help each other heal.
