You need to cope with it, not 'face it' or confront it.
It's like a bear trap, the more your struggle and pull, the more you get hurt.
Relax, let it be, it will pass. Had no reason to come, it will go without reason too.
after 43 days of no sleep, (I was on a huge manic high, spent about 15000$)I finally snapped. I ended up crying, screaming, breaking dishes, windows, anything that I could throw, for about an hour.
I told my family I hated them, I called them vicious names, I was hateful. I drank my face off for almost 2 weeks.
Then the crash hit me. I couldnt get out of bed for about 6 days. I wanted to die. my husband had to ration my meds so I couldnt O/D. I felt horrible about the way I acted, about the money I spent, the damage I did to my kids, and the overall bullshit that goes with Bipolar.
a breakdown is indeed hell on earth. absolutely a bad experience. albeit not the worst as there are many people in the world worse off than I. (homeless, geneocide,,,you get it). so I count my lucky stars that I survived it and can look back and understand any triggers and hopefully not go back there.

The first was an emotional breakdown when l was a teen l was able to get up and dress stick to routines but emotionally l pulled away from the world something in me retreated from emotional contact so l distanced myself from my friends l became a loner and l found it difficult to input any new information which was a nightmare on my school grades. l stuck to tasks that gave me comfort...
The second was about 10yrs ago l got up to go to work as usual and found that l couldn't get out of bed so l lay back down for 2wks and didn't move. leading up to it is foggy to remember but l was shutting down agin but this time physicaly and mentaly so my dreams stopped.
l ate junk food because l stopped cooking but l ate a lot less l dropped a lot of weight but for me my breakdown took about year leading up to it and was probably triggered by the stresses of university and loving an unfithful partner. My sleep pattern went to hell, l was vulnerable to coughs & colds and my skin broke out in acne my psorisis was worse. l felt like l was rotting from the inside out it was hellish....
My life was my work. I had given them so much with excellent results. I lost all of my friends, money, insurance, self esteem-everything.
For a long period I only communicated through my computer. I spent a year in bed until I found DS and 3 men who really helped me. No one in real life cared enough to notice I needed help. I was invisible. I wish I had gone to the hospital. Instead I was completely alone for an entire year. If you feel you are having one, you are already in a better position than I was. You have DS with wise experienced people to give advice.
Good luck dear!

Hang in there.
