John Adams... Despite being one of the nation's forefathers, He failures to convince anyone in Europe to give the US support weighed heavy on his mind. He greatly offended the French when there so much they may have pulled what support they did give if not for the beguiling of Ben Franklin. His whole trip to Europe put a strain on his marriage and caused him a great depression.

Can you imagine what entailed a trip to Europe at that time took?

No planes, trains and automobiles. A ship ride that was a hair bigger than our todays school bus. No showers, not that that mattered, they normally bathed once a year if any. That was why everyone wore wigs and had tons of facial make up, to cover the stink.

One theory as to how man survived back in the caveman days. Even the giant beasts like Sabertooth Tigers didn't survive.

Man survived because of its stink. We reeked so bad that it affected our taste making us not very high on the food totem pole.

This allowed us to survive with God's simple wisdom.
