I saw something on the internet that said your not supossed to drink grape juice while on anti-depressants. That was a shock. It is too bad because I love grape juice. This might be partly why I feel bad is because I have been drinking grape juice lately.

Also, it said you shouldn't drink anything but was when taking you medication 2hrs before and 2hrs after.

No, it's grapefuit juice that can cause some drugs to interact, but I don't think it's antidepressants. If so, it should say so in your info that you got with your med.

You can also ask your Dr, pharmacist, or look it up at www.WebMD.com or www.drugs.com

both are good sites for drug info.

It is grapefruit juice. It is a warning applied to the older antidepressants not the SSRI's. You can still drink it just follow the ole rule 2hrs before/after.

OK..one more for the thread....grapefruit juice..not grape juice,and like stated before ..the 2 hr rule.But if you have more questians a pharmacist will be able to give you exact directions.

I miss drinking Ruby Red Grapefruit juice!I think I must be the only person I know who EVEN LIKES grapefruit juice!LOL!!

i love grapefruirt juice too. i had to stop drinking it all together, it inferers with my bloodpressure meds too!! and my celexa nad probably everything else i am on

It is grapefruit juice as starfish says, and I believe it reacts with blood pressure medication. Keep taking the grape juice - it can only do you good. XX

It's definitely grapefruit juice, but it's only with SSRI antidepressants that you can't drink it. That would be drugs like prozac, zoloft, paxil, etc. Jenn..looks like you are on Effexor? That's an SSRNI type and it says "no food problems", so you should be able to enjoy your grapefruit juice.

thank you for the info. it is important that we keep each other informed to help users. I was never big on grapefruit juice. My mother loved to drink it. Have a good rest of the day.
