Hello, good morning / afternoon / night
"Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you." - Taylor Swift
do y'all ever feel like you are slowly losing the memories that you had before your first major episode? I'm holding on to mine, but I don't want them to slip away.
Taylor swift is one of my favorite artist she usually gets me through the day.. anyone have that kind of singer for them? Like you put on their music and everything seems to slip away and you feel better because you put yourself in that song.
maybe it's just the way I cope I guess.
another song everyone could check out is peanut butter waffles by - Ryan Caraveo A lyric from the song is
" I know there's no inbetween it's either high, low, you know how to find a balance, but I don't. I wish I could finally just find a home" -Ryan Caraveo
he's also bipolar and his songs are really good in my opinion.
name your favorite artist and favorite quote from a song down at the bottom.

Woke up feeling very emotional and about to clock in at my place of employment. And can't place it all in writing but not been a good experience with my store manager or his boss. Defamation of my character is a concern. I've been losing appetite and weight. Trying to perform at work to keep myself from hospitalization as a result of toxic masculinity.

I love several songs but I can't think of a quote ... Love Bridge Over Troubled Water.... Desperado..... Dream On.... xo
When I was younger (pre-internet) it was so different. We used to go to record stores to sample new albums on listening stations. I remember that so fondly. I’m certainly not as hip as I once was to follow new music. That’s a nice tune by Ryan Caraveo - thanks for sharing.
I couldn’t think of just one but I’ll choose this for today, a song I listened to on my headphones in high school and still enjoy all these years later:
Liz Phair - Explain It To Me

I hope you find peace and joy listening to your favorite music.
I like Taylor since she wa 16 an started in Country music. My favorite artists to listen to are Pentatonix, Keith Urban, Guy Sebastian, Calum Scott, Toby Mac, Casting Crowns, For King and Country, Carrie Underwood, John Legend and Panic at the Disco to name a few.
I also love Broadway Musicals and Classical Music, i.e. Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Tchaikovsky, Mozart. I love Hans Zimmer. I'm pretty versatile I could listen to just about anything except the old twangy Country my parents listened to. I also have my 80's Rock Hair band days, i.e. Guns & Roses, Bon Jovi, Van Halen...*sigh* the good old days!!!
Music has always been a major coping skil for me. I was in Honor Band from 6th Grade through Graduation, beating out all the upper classmen for First Chair was fun. Then my first 2 summers in University I got to play with the Houston Symphony Orchestra....that was a blast. lol All the fun stuff before I had to grow up and be married and then be a mom!
Enjoy your music!!!
I LOVE music!! Not country, though lol I have lots of sings that lift my spirits but some are "a little comfort while I wallow in sadness" ones, too.
Lately I am digging this song from a movie called The Battery (great Road Movie)zombie flick mixed genre film). It's called
Anthem For the Already Defeated (We cannot be defeated) and is sort if a bluesy tune. Lyrics then link below. Video has dance scene from film that just makes me happy to see.
They can take our bones
And bury them deep under the river
But we'll still be together
And we cannot be defeated
They can take our trombones
And pack them down there with us
But no matter how longs it takes us
We will not be defeated
When we dance, we dance together
Under the moon and under the weather
We will lock our eyes forever in the night
Well, they can take our bones
And bury them deep under the river
But we'll still be together
And we cannot be defeated
They can take our fists
And chop them off at the wrist
And we will shake our arms with bloody stumps
And we cannot be defeated
When we dance, we dance together
Under the moon and under the weather
We will shake our arms forever in the night

* Edited link for correct video w/dance scene
To set the scene: Two protagonist refer back during course of movie to having been trapped, for months, in house surrounded by zombies during film. (You don't SEE much as far as gore & zombies during movie so is prally ok for squeemish). The guy dancing wants to be constantly alert, moving, so to never be trapped like that again. Other main character is having difficulty leaving past life and longs for stability, homelife. 1st character relents to 1 night stay in abandoned home.
