Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
In 2008 I had to go on SSDI for my Bipolar. In the mean time, I also had problems with bursitus, 5 buldged discs, and tendenitous. I went through great lengths to be able to use my arms and hands for activities of daily living. I'm now much better because of all the physical therapy and the rest I've had in the past 7 -8 years. My bipolar is now under control, but I still get very angry and shaky when something goes wrong! Or someone does something that annoys me!
Anyhow, regardless of all that, and being on SSDI I decided to go back to work since I was very bored at home and all I did was; well lets say unhealthy behavior.
My first day of work is this Wednsday. I'm happy yet nervous that I can't handle the job. I still can't believe that after all these years of not working, someone has hired me!
Has any of you had experience going back to work after years of not working? How did it turn out for you?
Thanks for the support

The weeks seem to fly by!Happy Saturday to everyoneI hope that the weekend brings some chill time and barbecuesDoes it take others what seems like forever to add a comment on the boards?I'm okay everywhere else except boards..Everywhere else adds normally but it's annoyingly slow!Have a great Saturday and do something nice for you!!Big hug...xo

Sounds like you have overcome many obstacles to get where you are.
I went 6 years without working and then got hired and it turned into a 5 year job.
I think we all get frustrated at times when something goes wrong or something is annoying. I know I sure do. I try to blow it off and carry on.
Good luck on Wednesday. Please let us know how it goes.
If you encounter sleep problems I recommend working with your pdoc on proper meds that allow you to sleep well. It's soooooo important to be well rested for work, I have found.
Congrats and hugs of encouragment to you!
