Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I understand you are trying to do what's best all around but I don't understand why you say you are giving up your child? Mom is helping and wouldn't you be able to go home weekends etc?
Maybe you could speak to your schools advisors and such to explore all options . Off campus housing and childcare help could be an option.
I wish you much luck and a healthy happy baby!
I can't pretend to know how you feel or how any women feels when in your situation.
So I hope you see I am just trying to brainstorm for alternatives and sincerely wish you well.
I'm failing many classes because I'm away from my daughter and that feeds my depression and eats at my soul.
If I could turn back time, I would realize that I can go back to school when she goes to school around 5 years old. I can't work and go to school, I know that now. I tried to be that awesome, crazy mom that sleeps three hours so I can go to two jobs and get my degree but that's just not me. I am not super woman. I am a mental case that expects too much from herself and expects other people to understand the impossibilities of my existence when it's been damn near obvious my whole life that nobody can.
Just saying.
Those years don't come back. You don't get to put them off and recreate a milisecond. But school will always be there.
Not to mention breast feeding is the shizznit. I loved it.
PS I also had a "caring and compassionate" husband thing during the first year, so my support was strong, and even with strong support, that first year is unimaginably hard. Humbling, but hard.
I'm not really helpful. Just rambling. Sorry.
I take it you haven't told B.F. yet? He will probably have some input and help to offer too in this situation. you are not alone in this.
I am with spacekat...however there are many good ways to raise a child, and I support your choice iam.
How are you feeling these days?
