Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Compared to most Bipolar individuals my med list is fairly short, one of them being Lamictal 100 mgs. My NP at the time had the intention of upping my Lamictal past 100 mgs but my mood really evened out and I felt pretty bomb so she left it.
That was three months ago when I was in an Outpatient program, when I left the program I told my usual NP that the 100 mgs of Lamictal was doing great, so she left it alone. How fucking ever, in the last couple weeks my moods have undergone a HUGE downward spiral (shoutout to NIN.)
In the past couple weeks I've flitted from manic as all hell to suicidally depressed to anxious and crawling the walls. I'm still taking my meds and almost never miss a dose.
Anyway, bringing this full circle, should I ask for my Lamictal to be upped? Is it possible that I "got used" to the med and now I need a higher dose? Are there other concerning factors that have led to my rapid mood shifts? Should I start doing yoga? (sarcasm)

I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

it could be that you need an increase... what other meds do you take? you moods are shifting rapidly... do you usually rapid cycle? or it could be a mixed state... idk... when are you due to see your NP next?
I personal endorce "seroquel, the anti-pssychotic you can eat between meals, lead lined boots for bipolars"
But your are absolutely right, I just need to bite the bullet and up the dose.
As far as my meds are concerned I take Lamictal, Wellbutrin, Buspar, and Fluvoxamine.
I was prescribed seroquel when I was inpatient, and it worked wonders for me, it is the reason I was able to recover so quickly and be discharged without much fuss. However when I was put into my outpatient program, my assigned NP wanted to take me off of it almost immediately for reasons unknown. I told her time and time again that the seroquel was amazing and I truly felt like "me" again, but she was like "nope, nope, nope, seroquel bad for a girl your age, no more seroquel" and I had to go off of it cold turkey. Which was absolute bloody hell.
