I have been bipolar for 38 years, since I was ten. I was just in the hospital last month for an adjustment to my meds., and I am feeling much MUCH better now.
I am 48, and on SSI, but I am also the primary caregiver to my two parents. Papa has Parkinson's and Mama has Hydrocephalus (water on the brain) and had brain surgery in November. Both are doing as well as can be expected, for now. Mom was just put on Cymbalta, and her dose is 60, just like Dad and me--ironic that we all take the same dose of the same drug!
Although I have been getting better and have been recuperating from my mixed episode last month, I have had a hard time getting in the tub, but I finally figured out why.
Ever since we moved to this house I have hated the tub. Today I thought about it. It opens into the room on the right. Our previous tub opened up on the left. All our tubs in the past opened on the left. So I think if I sit in the tub backwards I will feel more comfortable. I know that sounds odd, but I always felt like something was wrong with the tub. Today I figured out that the layout is reversed. I am eager to check it out tonight. I will let you know how it goes. No more sponge baths for me--I am going in for a long soak!

Mom and I have errands to run this morning. She said we can get sushi for lunch though. I go back to work today. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Quick, before the evil MONday gets here! Let's climb those mountains, dance in the meadows, dip our feet in the ocean....Okay, so most of us won't be doing any of That. Sadly. But today can still be a great day!The area behind our back fence is on an incline, with less than two feet on even ground at the top. I don't balance well enough for the incline, but our mower guy mows that...

But at least I have a window in the bath. Windowless bathrooms make me cringe.
Soak away ayla67....soak away!!
I hope you enjoy a long soak !
