Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

for circumstances as they are now. There is no reason why you can't choose to return to school at a later time, is there?
I don't understand why you would be taking seroquel for depression but it's probably good that you stopped it.
Dealing with weight gain can be more traumatic than whatever our mood is, added in with what insensitive people may think or say. It's your life and you get to make the best decisions you can. No reasonable person will find fault with you.
next time, don't let it slide for 8 months. i give myself a week or two, at most, of feeling that horrible chemical depression and i'm running for help.
just stopping seroquel without medically supervised weening is enough to explain a long depressive period. that stuff's intense.
well, i hope you'll find the inspiration and spark to start fighting this awful disease. it really does get better. (((hugs)))
You can always return when you're well if that's what you want..
Great big hug of comfort for you...xo
Stopping seroquel could totally explain the depression.
I know when im depressed i eat a lot, & like you got myself at 200 pounds, im now working at 5 to 6 times a week & feeling great, lost 10 pounds too.
Keep fighting my dear

From reading your recent posts, seems you are really struggling.
Wishing you the best. Maybe this can just be a break?
It's tough to remember, but depression/BP is a liar and sabatoges our self-esteem. I think it's really doing a number on you right now.
Hang in there.
I went to a prestigious college right out of high school. The first semester went okay. (I had been at the top of my class all throughout high school.) Then, wham!-- here comes a mental illness out of left field.
I had to quit school...thought I would never go back. BUT here I am, 6 years later, returning to the college scene.
I took a break...that's all I did...my potential for success was never drained from me. I'm 25 and still a freshmen in college. Most of my friends are in graduate school....I'm behind, but I believe in myself..
You may not have to take such an extended hiatus...If you don't give up on yourself, you can and will get better! Then, once your illness is managed, school will probably even be easier for you.
Take some time off...get those symptoms under your control and try again...
True Fact: My grandma (63 years old) graduated college just this past month...
It is never too late! Just don't give up!
