I CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE IT!!!! I HAVE GAINED ABOUT THIRTEEN POUNDS IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS ON SEROQUEL. WTF?? Sorry for yelling, but it just pisses me off that the one medicine that works for me in regards to the intrusive thoughts, I can't take because it makes me even more of a whale than before. Grrrrrrr!! Saw pdoc this am and he decreased the Seroquel. Was doing fine on it at a lower dosage so we'll see. He increased my Luvox for the OCD/intrusive thoughts and is considering restarting me on Lithium for the racing manicky thought patterns I get into. Thanks for letting me vent. Rant over.

Awww Chelle, sorry to hear about your weight gain. I too have weight troubles, am on Chemo and am still a whale (so you have company you see??). I really need to nix the fast food but I love it, Fuck if the cancer doesn't kill me the food will. LOL...Just try and be more mindful of what kind of foods you eat and move around more ((I will try to take my own advise too!!!). Maria J.

aww, chelle, i'm sorry! you've been doing so well on the seroquel, i hate that the side effects are making it so you have to stop with the dosage combination that's been working. is there another option? i don't know how certain meds work in terms of weight gain, but if you counter it on another side, maybe limiting carbs, or increasing protein...would your p-doc take you back to the dose you know works?

Sorry to hear that Seroquel is making you gain weight. Especially when it is working for you. I hope you can find another combination of meds that work. Abilify has worked for me and no weight gain. Good luck.

I also gained a lot of weight when I was on it - and pretty fast when my dose was up too.. probably when I was at 1200mg on the XR.. I thought I had binge eating disorder & I would dream about food - I don't actually have binge eating disorder & now that I am off of it, I have already lost 50+ lbs in a pretty short period of time.. It was kind of strange getting used to eating a lot less, but I just didn't want to eat so much anymore. I refuse to go back on that drug..
