Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
One of my good friends committed suicide yesterday and I'm reeling. I just talked to her this weekend and she sounded fine. She was so upbeat and didn't leave a clue she was even considering it. Whenever we talked it was she who was concerned about me. She was bipolar, had PTSD, she was a victim of rape. ...by her husband at the time.
We shared everything. We kept each other sane. And I feel betrayed. She should have called me! Like she usually did when things were bad. I always told her I was there for her no matter what time or day. I loved her! I always told her she was NOT a burden like she thought she was. She felt she was a burden to friends and family. She would TALK TO ME!!!!!!! I'm so angry with her!
I know how she felt. I've felt the same at times, we all have. I've learned to turn that feeling around and said to myself I don't want to die, I just want to be understood. Me feeling not understood was the cause of those thoughts I can push those feelings aside now.
The one thing that I do know, I will NEVER do that again. I see now how doing that is very selfish and how many ppl I'd hurt, that we all would hurt. My life matters to more ppl I could ever know, new or old. We are here and we matter and are loved. We'd see that if we got out of our own way.
I'm not saying my way of dealing with the thoughts of suicide is going to work for everyone, but I sure hope so.
The funniest thing happened to me today. Whilst putting dishes away, I piece of paper floated to the floor and it had writing on it. I picked it up and I saw the name Tracey on it which is her name along with a phone number. I couldn't believe it. The number wasn't hers, but a friend of mine that gave me the number last summer. I've been in that cabinet hundreds of time since the summer and it never fell. Matter of fact, I don't even know how it got there. It was her telling me she's ok and no longer in pain.
Thank you Theresa for taking the time to say hello. I'll miss you so much. I love you my friend

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
