Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I'll just drop everything and go for a walk if I'm not in a full blown panic. Helps to get me distracted....it's something in the moving around that helps me.
I can not talk myself down. I have to ride the whole panic attack out. I end up stuffing something in my mouth if I'm screaming because I don't want to scare my kids. I usually end up vomiting too.
I have one huge trigger that I wish I could avoid but I can't. I am drawn to it. As miserable as it makes me.
it?
It used to bug me that it took a pill or two to calm me down. Now I could care less as long as those meds calm me down.
Breathing doesn't work. I typically go hide in my room under the blankets and just ride them out if I can... typically wishing I were dead so I wouldn't be so afraid. That is if I'm lucky enough to have them when I'm at home.
BUT, leaving the house can trigger them or being outside the house can trigger them. Loud noise can trigger them. Crowds DEFINATELY trigger them. And like tremorchrist, I've had them in Walmart a few times. Not fun.
