I soooo hear you. I was with family the other day and they watched an hour and a half straight of the news and my anxiety levels were skyrocketing. Can't pay too much attention to the fighting cause it triggers way too much. I just loathe the hatred and violence out there. Seriously.

Deep breaths. Whew!

As horribly stressful as it all is I have to be aware of what's happening. It's personal.

I never watch, read or listen to the news. There is no point to it in my opinion.

Like Banshee says...it's personal.

I can sympathize with those who are adverse to watching though and accept your right to insulate yourself from the need to filter the good from the bad...and all the while trying not to rubberneck the ugly.

It's a wild and wonderfully complex world we live in...sensationalism makes it so hard to decipher as well.

Then there's the stuff going on that is strangely absent from the news. That's the stuff I'm seeking...there's always traces...without faces...and some truth to every conspiracy uncovered. More or less.

I believe if someone feels they will become distraught or overly emotional when reading or seeing the news, they should not read or see it! Those who feel they Can, and wish to keep up, Should do so.

When we hurt for someone, or some country - when we feel called on to send out prayers, thoughts of peace or healing, you know - "long distance love", even - we can do it without knowing all the gory details, though it's kinda nice to know "some" people do know what's going on. :/

I don't watch the news often it stresses me out. Have fun if you get to jump in the pool for a bit! :)
