I was able to get a loan to pay ff my debts this week. The money cleared this morning and everything is paid off! I have to wait for the payments to clear and then I am calling to cancel three credit cards. I still have three more credit cards to pay off and will work on that starting this month I hope. One card is for my favorite clothing store in the mall and I would like to keep that account open. Another is a catalog card which once paid off I will cancel and the other is a credit card I will keep for emergencies but i will freeze that in a bag of ice so i dont have it on hand. The relief i feel is insane! I thank you all also for your advice :)

Best way to make things happen for you is to jump in cold feet!! I would close all departments store cards and maybe keep one major credit card open just for emergency back up but you don’t need to keep departments store cards open if the intent is to payoff without incurring any more debt.

Excellent and good for you! I also suggest closing all the ones that are at a zero balance. When you go to your favorite store, just use your debit card or cash. If you don't have the cash or money set aside for this purchase in the debit card, don't buy things. These companies do things that are predatory, special events for cardholders, special discount this weekend. And then we rush to purchase something and it gives us a little high for a short while and all the while the predatory credit card companies got us in their hooks. Me, too. This is how I know. I feel better not using credit cards unless I can pay them off at the end of the month.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
