Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Last night I had dinner with my old collage roommate. It was good seeing her and we had good conversation. She asked me what I have been up and I told her about my volunteering, then she asked me if I was working. I said no. In my twenties I really struggled with bipolar and only the last three years have been good. I am slowly trying to get my life together. I have plans about school, more volunteering. I live at home and am dependant on my parents. I just feel like a loser.

Mom and I have errands to run this morning. She said we can get sushi for lunch though. I go back to work today. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

Quick, before the evil MONday gets here! Let's climb those mountains, dance in the meadows, dip our feet in the ocean....Okay, so most of us won't be doing any of That. Sadly. But today can still be a great day!The area behind our back fence is on an incline, with less than two feet on even ground at the top. I don't balance well enough for the incline, but our mower guy mows that...

I had a very late onset of bipolar. Now I'm thinking I may be able to handle working p/t in a box store retailing cheap merchandise. You think you are a loser? You are not a loser, neither of you. My family is toxic and I finally got an apartment. I barely have enough ssdi to get through the month so parents are still subsidizing me financially. I hate it. However, I'm a work in progress and I'm interviewing for jobs. You can do it.
Still we do it. Me included, but it's only when I live in Today Only, and do the best I can with That, that I get any comfort and happiness.
I'm sure this is not where you imagined, or even where you Want to be, but I hope it can be Enough for Today.

Pats on the back for us, all around!
If you compared me to my son, you would find that he stands up for himself but I allow people to let me be and say and do whatever. We will call my son "Robert" for the sake of this sharing.
1-I joined a conservative faith institution with political ideologies which are the exact opposite of mine. Robert joined a faith institution that reflects more of what his beliefs are.
2- I put up with the emotional abuse of other people. My son Robert does not put up with the emotional abuse of other people.
3. I go and do what others say. If my son Robert doesn't feel like it, he doesn't do it (just speaking of things which are non obligatory, not things which are necessary in society).
Robert is 11 and I am 47. Which one is true to themselves?
Robert.
Be like Robert. Be true to yourself and love yourself. You are a survivor, not a loser.
Much Agape and Hugs,

Volunteering is a very noble thing to do. In my opinion, all jobs are Noble and worthy of respect. Well not criminal jobs, but good honest jobs. Don't get down on yourself for feeling at a different 'level' than others. I know it's easier said than done, but coming to terms with limitations that BP can sometimes bring has helped me feel more adequate, or that I matter. Hugs!!
but by how far you've come.
