Bipolar Disorder Support Group

This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I slept from 2am till noon today, woke up ate some breakfast and fell back asleep on the couch until 4:30 pm. UGH. My boyfriend has been cleaning and organizing all day. I feel so guilty. I don't think my body does well with weather changes.
It's 55 here in Ohio and all my friends on facebook are also being really productive also. It depresses me that I don't feel like doing anything. Maybe I should try and take a shower. Thanks for letting me vent.

You do what you can, that's all you can do. I understand how you can feel guilty while you see people all around doing more than you, but you're not being a bum. We all have limitations, and some days are better than others. I hope all the rest feels good. And it sounds like you have a good bf, not bugging you to get up, just helping :)

Reds, when I was a teenager and visiting the beach I used to think if it takes being a "Bum" to live here when I get older I will just have to be a bum. Was never brave enough to be a bum. So there. Nothing's wrong with it!! HUGS!

You are not alone at all (((((HUGS))))) It is this illness hunny :) This is selfish but I am glad I am not alone. DS and being a part of the Bipolar Disorder Support Group helps me to know I am so not alone at all (((((HUGS))))) You and a are gonna be fine and everyone else here too. It is okay to be different and I thank God that my husband is such a superhero and loves doing things for me. He is my cheerleader too and I am hoping your boyfriend is the same :)

I left my room/house for five hours today and that completely exhausted me - if that makes me a bum then so be it!!! We can only do as much as we are able to do at any given time! be kind to yourself!

What Irishwriter says makes alot of sense. Please listen to what she says......or read what she says and remember it. Simple to remember and live by :)

I feel like a bum because I just lost my substitute teaching job. The most I can handle is working 2 days a week because it overwhelms me and I start forgetting things and get lots of anxiety. I feel like a bum for losing yet another job for things I did that I didn't know were wrong. I gave it a try. Hadn't worked in 7 years and subbing was so perfect because you could decline jobs if you needed to. Have to get another job p/t but I'm not really qualified to do anything but teach or counsel. Oh well, this too shall pass.
