Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I'm not sure what's causing it. I'm experiencing extreme fatigue. About a month ago I developed Vertigo. The Vertigo isn't as bad as when it first happened but I haven't felt right since. I've seen my Dr. and she referred me to a neurologist. I have an appointment with them on September 25th. That's the soonest they could get me in.
I know this seems off topic for the Bipolar group but I've seen many posts about similar things.
Like many of you, I live in a less than ideal situation. My son and his grandma don't understand what it's like to be me. It seems like I have to do everything or it doesn't get done. I feel so overwhelmed.
I have a job interview tomorrow. It's for a burger restaurant that's a small local chain. It's not ideal but I've been out the game for so long I'm start at the beginning.
I have a date with my boyfriend. I'm superstitious about talking about my relationships because I'm afraid something bad will happen if I do. I don't know why I developed that. Anyway, he's my age and lives in driving distance from me. We've been seeing each other since November. He is very sweet and compassionate. He has anxiety so we can relate with each other about our mental health. I've cried in front of him because I was depressed a couple of times. He was comforting. That is one the many things I love about him. I'm so afraid of losing him because of my condition. I wish he could of known me when I was younger and more upbeat.
If at this time I need answers to what's wrong with me physically. Also, I need compassion and understanding. Something I don't get at home. I know that life is tough. I just need something to keep me going.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

As far as the fatigue, I had the same issue last month. My dr did bloodwork on me but everything came back normal. So I stopped drinking all caffeine after 2 pm, started being more active, and went back to taking melatonin to help me sleep. The combination of all that really helped and I have not been feeling so tired lately.
Are you getting adequate sleep? I know they say it a lot, but exercise can really help energize you. I just walk a lot and that is So refreshing:)
Perhaps setting a chart of:
What time we go to bed. The hours we should be in our room sleeping or doing quiet things, but we stay in our room. The time when we can get up for the day and leave our room and wake others in the house.
Actually putting these things on a chart with times in his room may help him learn when it's okay to come and disturb you in the night and when it's not. I'd also buy him a special Journal or Notebook, maybe something with his favorite thing on the cover and make a bit of a big deal about showing him how he can write down whatever he wants to tell you during his quiet time at night in his room, he can draw you pictures, anything he likes, but he can't show you until morning time when its time for the House to wake up.
Setting limits, creating routines, explaining things in visual ways tend to work better for folks with Asperger's, as I'm sure you know. It may take him a little bit to catch on. There can be consequences for not following the Rules. After a time frame where your comfortable with him "having understood the Rules" and he's just not doing it, you can impose consequences. Having to miss a favorite TV show 1 evening, time missed for a video game, or other activity, nothing drastic...just enough on his level to reinforce the Rules he needs to learn and follow.
Even those with disabilities like Asperger's are capable of following rules and living with boundaries. And you definitely need to get your sleep at night, you have to be there to take care of him, the house, work, yourself and it's a lot when your not rested.
Take care,
Kat
I think you need to ask for help with the chores and then leave them be..... They're used to you doing them anyway..... I would stop even if things are left for a while.... They'll get the message sooner or later.....xo
