Hi everyone! I'm currently cutting back on my Effexor. I know about all the withdrawal effects and they are terrible. Any one have any ideas on how to make the "brain zaps" less miserable?

Unless you've had them, they are hard to describe the awful feeling they give you !
I suggest that you are doing an Effexor with-drawl , under Pdoc supervision ?

I found that Benedryl did help a bit with brain Zaps

I was told not to worry they'll go away, but they didn't until I changed my pdoc. She put me on Lexapro, slowly increased the dosage until the zaps went away and then gradually took me off it.
The worst problem I had with going off effexor was that I had terrible insomnia and it kicked of a hypomanic episode.
And then I got horribly depressed a month later so I had to go back on it anyway. :P That stuff is poison but it works.
