Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
and not all bipolar people feel euphoria or happy times .
dysphoria is the irratable and agitated feelings.
Seeing things out of the corner of your eyes, VERY common with BP people .
But if you have your doubts, get a second opinion ?
A good Pdoc will spend a lot of time with you, getting a complete mood History from you.
My first visit with my Pdoc, he gave me several written tests ..a Depression Mood test
a Manic Mood Test...a few weeks later I saw him again, and that's when I was DXed as BP.
It could be your original Pdoc , jumped to conclusions...but just from my personal experience, what you are discribing is BP behavior
It must be scary dealing with these symptoms but not knowing what you might be dealing with. What you describe could be bipolar symptoms (crying, irritability, despondence and apathy), but I don't hear you describe anything reflects hypomania/mania.
My suggestion, is that you track your moods and behaviors daily and talk to your pdoc about it. He/she might be able to give you more insight.

Here is what they use in their clerkship at Brown University. Read over this and discuss this with your pdoc.

When I'm in public, I get assault charges filed. That's only happened once. I can't count the times I've 'woken' to find my wrists tied to the headboard and my husband sitting in a chair beside the bed.
I urge you to discuss this in detail with your pdoc. It is better to get things straightened out now than to suffer needlessly for several more years.
It will save you and your family much grief.
I'm just afraid that the current situation is gonna blow up in all our faces.
My husband, our two kids and I are living with my mom. If she doesn't think my Dx is correct and doesn't understand why I can't function, I think we won't be welcome too much longer. (not that this is exactly pleasant)
I was off my meds in July, and had an 'episode' that resulted in a hospital stay. They got me stable and back on meds, and I have been fine the last two months. The last two days, everything has been....I don't know how to describe it. I'm restless, and bored. I can't sleep, don't want to eat. Don't know what to do with myself. I feel caged.
You need help and are suffering, that is all that should matter.
If you could have a doctor explain what is going on to your family, that would be better.
It will allow you and your family to move forward.
