Latuda is a new drug for me and when I started it I had reached my out of pocket max on my insurance so everything was free..... Now that we are in a new year I have a new $4000 deductible. My son has a regular treatment which will eat up the whole deductibe but we have to wait until that bill gets to the insurance... in the meantime I pay full price for everything. So My pdoc triples my dose of Latuda because of the mania and I only have enough left for a few day..... She calls in a 30 day supply at the higher dose and I go to pick it up. Total price for 30 days of Latuda? $1650.00. That is One Thousand Six Hundred and Fifty dollars for 30 tiny little pills. $55 per pill. Seriously? I obviously left without it. Called the pdoc and she gave me samples for a month.

My $850/month Seroquel doesn't even compare. Out of pocket is $82. Instead of being thankful for the insurance, I resent the out of pocket. What can I say, that $82 would buy a lot of crafting junk that I don't really need.
Worst drugstore horror story was when CVS ran out of my Seroquel and the fill in pharmacist was too damn lazy to get two tablets and hand them to me. That was the day CVS learned why people on Seroquel should have their meds.
Really glad your doc helped you out. It's scarey to think you can't get your meds.

Sorry your's was so expensive. I did find a patient assistance program for my abilify but the shot is killing me!! Maybe you can find one for the Latuda. Best of luck! :)
Here's my story, it does have a nice ending. I hope it will work for you though.
All my Doctors have seemed to have amnesia when prescribing me medicine, adding to my theory that Pharmacuetical companies simply pay them to write prescriptions regardless of what it costs us.
They all know I didn't or don't have insurance but they still prescribe me these medicines I can't afford. Also they know I have no cash at all. Of course I'd call them back and be like "you know I can't afford this, can please give me a generic one?" It's offensive to a certain degree.
I'd rather be addicted to alcohol and drugs, its' cheaper. Anyway, even though you have insurance, if you provide all your documents to the drug makers of your drug, they have Patient Assitance Programs that give you the medicine for free. I don't ask for more medicine even thought I probably could legitamately use it. The two medicines I take I get for free for a at a time year. I get them absolutely free, when market price for a bottle of thirty both combined is around 800 dollars.
Don't think because you have insurance it won't work, try it out, what do you have to loose? Just see who the drug maker is, go to the website and fill out their Patient Assitance Program form. If they don't have one on the website, call them and explain your situation, they are usually willing to help if you legitamtely cannot pay for the medicine.
Generics are $15 with no deductible.
Here is what is killing me I have a $10,000 deductible for hospitalization and most testing.
My medical expenses are over $500 per month and this is after the prescription deductible has kicked in. That is not a lot compared to some of you but my rent just went up to over a grand a month and bankruptcy is looming.
