I am seroquel. It says not to drink at all, but of course I don't listen. I'm 24, lol. Anyway, with it being around the holidays I have a drink now and then. Nothing major. I am just wondering what actually could happen by me not folling the no drinking rule? They tell you not to drink, but don't tell you why. I am assuming it will just make me more drowsy then the meds do alone.

While drinking does exacerbate the effects of the drugs, especially seroquel, it also alters your brain chemicals possibly decreasing the efficiency of your meds.

While some people can have a drink once in a while with no problems, I cant. One glass of wine can throw things off for me.

I definately would not drink and drive with seroquel or any other psych med.

I'd go to a good meds site and check interactions. There are meds we don't want to drink with because it can be fatal. The thing with warnings is that they don't necessarily apply to everyone, but they have to apply them to everyone since just one serious problem is one too many. My first pdoc told me not to drink too much, so I didn't. But I still drank since I was 20-something. Now I'm 59 and glad I made it so far! I hope you have a long run too!

Don't go there ,I drank and took seroquel and tried to drive and all the lights were leaving endtrails it was a trip,a trip to the hospital later.

I don't drive after I take my meds. I take them before bed. And I don't drive after drinking either.

I think drinking and driving is a NONO regardless of meds?

That wasn't her question!

I drink while on meds occasionally, but I won't take my meds that night. Just to be safe.

I stopped drinking for 5 months just to get things in order again. I am on lamictal but I had a few drinks the other night and what I found is that it really does mess with the brain chemistry and it was not just a hangover. I noticed that I was more anxious and worried. I also then became more depressed..anyway it isn't worth it. I think one drink might be ok...but not more --yuck
