I agree, let yourself grieve so that you can heal. That way you will be able to smile at the thoughts and feel love when you think of him. If you don't grieve, you will cry every time you think of your kitty for years to come because every time you do... you restart the grieving process.
I wish I could give you a great big hug, losing a pet is so hard... they give us nothing but love. Hang in there sweetie -xo
Work through the grief in healthy ways and dont let the loss monopolize your every thought. Do some productive things to help you through it. You can make a small scrap book of your cat or set up a memorial in your garden. You can journal the memories and good times you want to remember. Dont "rush" to replace but give yourself a little time.
It sounds like your cat was a good companion for you and good therapy. Give it a little time and then seek out another companion that can help you through the diffiuclt times.
So sorry for your loss, I had to put down our choc. lab (Mollie) less than a year ago and it hurts like hell.........but, remember the awesome times.....I will be thinking of you....xo
When I stopped taking the meds... i started coming back and... was over emotional about everything. But it was wonderful to have my emotions back. To feel again... even if it was the feeling of despair.
Try and let your feelings come as they wish... dont suppress them... let them out. Dont let the medications dictate how you feel.
Hope your grieving is short lived yet productive.
I have always been totally over the top with my emotions, to the point of annoying people.
I look forward to being a bit calmer
hugs
