I loved the film

Great movie!

Ehem, I guess I missed that movie because I don't know what the hell you are all talking about!

But I agree about dogmatic positions on religion versus atheism. Who knows indeed? You'd think atheists would be able to arrive at some spiritual appreciaiton of the natural world and feel that connection to all living things and feel thankful at the wonder of it all. And wonder if there is more to life than what's in their bank balance? Similarly I see some Christian types elsewhere who seem to have missed the point of organised religion as some kind of life guidance based on the life of Jesus Christ and as an example to us all (even if poorly executed at times)...non-judgemental, loving, generous, forgiving, modest. ...Everyone- less hate, more love...and what is the name of the film you are all referring to for pity's sake?! :)

Really? Other than Dawkins and his crowd I don't see much of that. And yes, they are incredibly annoying.

Who says they don't? Where is that information coming from?

How many Buddhists are there in the world - they are mainly atheist. Many of the eastern cultures have much greater connection and respect for the natural world than it seems the west, until perhaps recently have. And as said, their atheist.

I'm pretty much not a fan of any religion. I'm open to any philosophy that can support itself logically & rationally. I think that in many ways Buddhism has done that for me.

I don't have a religion. I have a relationship with Jesus. And he has never failed me. I tried many religions and they all failed me. But Christ just keeps me growing and learning. After 31 years.

But I am a bit radical - a Christian feminist and environmentalist. But all based on the Bible and knowing that God did create this world and call it "good."

As for Buddhism, I confess even after studying with Buddhists and studying, I do not understand it. But they do have a wonderful appreciation of nature and the world. At least the ones I have known, and the things I have read.

As for proof, like Thomas (the disciple who doubted the resurrection) I was just like him. But Jesus revealed himself to me, and he has never led me wrong. No, I didn't see him, but I did hear the small still voice, and I would probably be dead or permanently hospitalized without him.

Some atheists are aggressive because they don't like living under Christian rules and want them changed. Plus they feel the need to rescue people.

I loved the ideas behind the film, but could have been done much better.:P Oh wait that isn't the discussion here.

I fall more into the dark pagan mystical camp so I find both the atheists and Christians to be peddlers. Although I find more in common with the atheists than the Christians.

I see the movie reviews are about the Catholic Church. I think I will watch it so I can critique. I am not Catholic, but I have many friends who are. I don't really get anyone trashing anyone's else's beliefs, let alone making a movie about it.

Dogma is not about trashing another person's beliefs. Its an alternative point of view. It is, in reality, a different set of beliefs. It takes the traditional Christian viewpoint, and turns it on its head. Out of that comes a different concept of God and Christ.

I believe in God and at the same time I try to respect others beliefs and if someone tells me they are athiests I let them be, but hopefully through my example they would want to follow Christ eventually. I am a sinner and I know it but I try my best to do what it takes to get to heaven. I cuss and do a million other wrong things a day but I am a human being so all I can do is try. I believe God is real. I saw my sister dieng before my very eyes several years ago. She is alive today and is married and has two kids. She shouldn't of lived but she did. I overdosed on crack cocaine and I lived. My car fell down in the pit at the oil change place and I lived. Fell right down in there as my husband was trying to drive it into the oil change garage and this was several years ago but i lived. Anyway God is 100% real and prayer does work.

Darkend...in a way I feel you are right. I will admit I'm Athiest and I do NOT like to live under Christian rulers. Why should others push their religion on us when (most) of us do not bother others with our "lack" of religion? Idc about dogma (even though it was an awesome movie)

I say live and let live and don't push your religion on anyone.
