Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
My one friend use to think she was dreaming all the time, She has no formal diagnoses but that doesn't mean anything except she refuses to go to the doctor for help.
One time I lay in bed half asleep thinking there was a meth head woman with a dirty butcher knife stalking me in my bedroom and if I stayed perfectly still she couldn't see me to kill me. Even when I was fully awake I kept checking the house for the meth head. I couldn't figure if it was real or not.
Another time I was sleeping in the living room and my sister came in an blasted the tv in the middle of the night. I yelled at her to turn it down. She said, "What?" and I yelled louder. I yelled so loud I woke myself up and there was no one in the room, tv was off, room was dark, but I woke everyone up yelling!

My dreams are so real that I think they are.
I even get chest pain, like I ran a race or something.
My therapist says it is common with the abilify.

Somewhat related - my sleep schedule has been very erratic recently. Yesterday I fell into a deep sleep in the afternoon and woke up to see the digital clock at 5:40 glowing in pitch darkness but I had no idea if it was AM or PM. I took me quite a while to figure it out it was PM.
When any of this happens I fear I'm slipping into dementia.
The other day I fell asleep and had a dream that I yelled at someone for turning on the tv to watch criminal minds while I was asleep. When i woke up the tv was off, but I turned it on and criminal minds was on! I asked my brother if it actually happened, and he said it never did!
My dreams are really realistic and people have gotten used to me asking "Hey did this happen or was that a dream?"
I was now about to create a post like this here. Yes it happens to me. And I have to just sit a while struggling to rem if what I'm thinking of was a dream or not.
Sooooo frustrating!!! Lol! Funny that we all seem to be kinna going through this. Maybe there's a BP Moon Phase??
But for me its not the meds. I have deampt like this since I was little. The meds just give em a boost like they are on steroids!!
Your definitely not alone in this one!
