I've never felt like an emotional invalid. There have been times when the medication I took made my emotions less accessible but that ended when I stopped/changed medications. I never have been treated like a mental patient at work, but then I never told anyone about my experience.

I guess you could say I'm a emotional invalid. I have a lot of emotional problems since I hallucinated for two solid months. I still have some residual effects from that. I still have auditory hallucinations from time to time.

Sometimes but more and more I am tired of it. People who treat others in a rude manner really have a problem. Really. We don't need to be their emotional punching bags. We can just chalk those folks up as unhappy people who take it out in others. We have to learn to distance ourselves from those types because they are always going to be out there.

I think your awesome for holding down a job and caring for your family the way you do! Big hugs to you !

Considering I had a major emotional meltdown at work...and had to take 3 months off work to get a DX and some meds going....yep....when I returned to work , no one ever quite treated me the same .

As far as feeling like an emotional invalid , I think not so much, except during the worst of my BP times

I am currently going through emotional stress at my work and have to hide my BP from my bosses (a family business who have no tolerance for 'sick days' and are very hard on employee mistakes.). I am about to breakdown again over it and I'm at my wits end.

i used to, but , instead of trying to deal with this world on their terms I decided to let them deal with me on mine. Peace and good fortune to you rappcitee!!!

@DancingD: If you have ever seen "Gattica" which is a movie about classicism based on genetics, they use the word "invalid" as in In-Vahl-Id but don't use the word lkie Ihn-vuh-lid. Interesting how the pronouciation changes the meaning of the word.

MissSunshine has it right on the mark, I think. My third sister I believe does this-She sort of just drifts through the problem and she accepts all of her feelings no matter what--It seems to work well for her.
