yes all of those and stomach ache caused by spasm of the colon due to anxiety which i have been getting since i was six years old! as far as i am concerned bipolar is as much a physical disease as it is psychiatric if not more so because once the meds balance out the physical side of things only then can we work on the other stuff. good luck with it. the pain sucks.

yes I think depression causes physical symptoms. I spent four months a couple of year ago going to my doctor and to different specialists trying to figure out what was wrong with me. I ended up back at the pdoc and we determined I was depressed. Once I dealt with the depression and it finally lifted, the physical stuff was gone. IN the meantime I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome, rapid heart rate, stomach ulcers and the like. IN the end, I had none of these things, only a sick mind. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

I ache all over...feel like I am moving backwards and it just plain sucks!!! The Celexa I take really helps...but need in small doses because if the BP and possible mania......Glad you were able to get something to help ease things up for you....feel better soon!

Yes, definitely. Usually depression slows me down, makes me a little achy and want to sleep. About 6 months ago I felt like I was hit with the flu big time. My whole body hurt in addition to the mental sludge. I kept taking my temp but it wasn't outside of the normal range. I finally realized it was the depression. As the depression eased up, so did the physical discomfort.

I had an undiagnosed stomach problem for about 8 months last year while I was depressed. They did every test imaginable and finally decided to call it "nervous stomach", saying that the actual, physical nerves in my stomach were messed up. The nervous part made sense to me so whatever. It went away when I came out of the depression/anxiety state. Tons of pain in my lower tummy and the nausea was SO awful.

Yes I had this all last week. I felt so exausted and my body hurt I just wanted to sleep.

Depression definitely brings my pain level up. Headaches, bodyaches, flu-like fatigue.....it hurts!
