Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

So i thought I was doing ok but im really not my depression has come back and anxiety. I dont know but I feel like maybe I should see a new doctor because she thinks that I'll be just fine on 40 mg of latuda and gabapentin. Like I do have bipolar according to her and my therapist says maybe I need a mood stabilizer. There a lot of things going on in my life to trigger this that i need to work thru. I just cant do it by myself anymore... Im not getting the support i need. I am wondering if i should go to the hospital again for a week...

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

It’s the season for depression.
When I’m depressed it helps for me to keep busy. Clean the house, work on a jigsaw puzzle, I crochet a lot during fall/winter and I also sew. Take a walk. Finding motivation is hard when I am depressed but once I get to doing something it really helps.
Gabapentin is not FDA approved for off-label use in BiPolar patients, but can be used as an Anti-Anxiety med., although that's generally only done in BiPolar Patients with Anxiety and there's very little data that supports its success. It's not an Anxiety med. Its an Anti-Seizure med that's frequently used for Neuropathy and Nerve Pain.
Regardless you need to talk to your Pdoc about those concerns, med changes and what's not working for you. If she doesn't seem to want to work with you, then perhaps its time to find a new Pdoc. Its not your Therapists job to tell you what meds you should be on.
Going in the hospital if your not severely depressed or suicidal doesn't sound like the answer, if you can get this done by seeing your Pdoc and talking it out with her.
Take care,
Kat
I don't think Gabapentin does much to help bipolar … I use it to help with sleep however it does nothing to help with my moods
A SAD lamp may help a bit however I think finding the right cocktail is what's most important
Please be cognisant of your moods right now and if you dip too low go to emerg…..
Big hug.....xo
