Okay, so both my children and myself are bipolar. This last year has been really rocky for myself and my oldest. I thought my youngest was doing great, finishing his CBT and taking his meds consistantly, and they were keeping him steady.
This is the third week of school, and he's already hiding school work, raging when he gets caught, and self harming when not monitored. I don't know what to do.
I'm not exactly stable myself, having not found the right meds since the Abilify quit working. I don't have the time to go into long term treatment to find the right mix.
He hasn't mentioned death yet, but I know it's right around the corner. I just hope he doesn't flip out at school this year. Last year I had to pull him out and home school him because of the stigma. The teachers were too uncomfortable to teach him, and the kids were relentless in teasing him. I feel another hospitalization coming, and I'm not looking forward to it.
