Crazy Sleep Stuff

Ugh, I have been having the most bizarre sleep for the past 2 weeks. I will sleep for an hour, then wake up totally wired and stay up the rest of the night.

I have no other signs of mania, and I don't feel "rested in spite of the lack of sleep" like I do when I'm manic...I feel like I could drop to the floor at any minute, but still can't sleep.

Pdoc prescribed Restoril but I hate how groggy it makes me. It's worse than no sleep when morning rolls around.

Also on Lamictal, Lithium, Abilify, and Klonopin ( which is tweaking me out for some reason).

It can take awhile to get the right meds, but keep at it.

umm, just a suggestion...you might want to get your blood sugar and pressures checked...the "dropping to the floor" comment IS disconcerting.

Remember...it's not all about BP and the meds...wishing you health and luck.

You're on 2 benzo's (tranquillizers) so it might be too much... x

I had to stop Klonopin because I was having a " paradoxical " reaction.

Instead of calming me down, it agitated me.

Talk to your Pdoc about this, this might be what's going on

Thank you all. Been trying to find the "right meds" forever but that is always changing. I've had my blood sugar and BP measured within the month, but good thinkin. I know I'm on two benzos and I don't much like or take either one, at least not lately. YES, DancingD, I now have that same reaction to Klonopin - amps me up! Crazy. You are all so kind to try to help this sleep deprived girl. Pdoc is out till tomorrow - hoping he can give me something to tranquilize me so I'm sure to knock out - at least for now.

Wow! I have the same problem. It happens at least once a week. Go to be at 1am...wake up at 2am WIDE AWAKE. My brain is groggy but I have energy. I end up washing dishes or fixing something, anything to get rid of that energy. I don't know what causes it & forgot to mention it to my doc when I saw him last week.
BUT...2 summers ago it was happening every night. I would get only a few hours of sleep per day. I felt like I was losing my mind.
Doc lowered my Trazadone and it stopped. Maybe one of your meds is too high a dose.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
