I sometimes wonder if I had not married a crazy person who was a rager and had OCD and a sex addiction if my BP would have progressed as badly as it did. What do you think? Do you think your life circustances affect how bad your bp is?

Yes, I did not marry wisely in this regard. I can imagine a better choice. For example, a very emotionally steady spouse would have been a support.

i definately think that lifes circumstances affect the severity of bp..sometimes i wonder if life had been any different wether i would even have bp, i know some say we are born with it but im not sure

I was bp as a child and teen so I know I was born with it. But I really don't think it would have been as bad if I hadn't married so badly.

Maybe bp is both genetic and circumstances who knows? It is a physical illness though, brain chemistry and all.

I think it affected it's expression. I hid my manias, hid my frustration in self harm.

it's hard enough to have to deal with this on a daily basis as it is but when you have other chaios too then bp is magnified. goes for any life situation I think like work, neighbors, etc.

Absolutely, unfortunately. I had it bad when I was young, but was fine for years until one day my husband did something terrible and flipped the switch back on. My shrink says that's typical. He also said that my BP was caused by abuse; that enough of it at an early age will affect the brain as it grows.

when I am in a bad realtionship well ya of couse my bp gets wrost just like when you get stressed out or even get in a fite with a good partener
