I have a situation that I really don't know what to do. I was diagnosed with bipolar about 10 years ago. My current medications consist of lithium Lamictal and Zyprexa. Lithium is 450 twice a day Lamictal 400 twice a day and Zyprexa 5 milligrams everyday. My memory is horrible. I've noticed over the years it has gotten so much worse. Not sure how my family doesn't really notice. I can't even carry on normal conversations anymore. I can't pay attention when someone's talking. I'm reading a book I can't do I don't do well to make it past the page my mind wanders. I am a nurse. My current job is Home Health and I did it before my breakdown 10 years ago. So I'm familiar enough with it that I can sort of fudge through. We are getting ready to move we need my income I know I can't work with my brain the way that it is. I've got a short length of time to try to get it together. I told my psychiatrist and I've also tried to cut back on dosages of meds myself through the years. She has not been helpful and I don't know what to do. Maybe I should switch psychiatrist I've had her all this time. Anyone with similar experiences opinions on what I should do please help. My husband expects me to be able to work I truly don't think I can.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Definitely talk to your Pdoc
I worked at a community health nurse on the mental health team and was okay as I had done it for years... When I changes jobs due to moving I was sunk... I was unable to learn new skills especially a complete new job while trying to adjust to a move
I had to leave the profession... mind you at the same time I was caring for my parents which added a lot of stress and worry
I know that this may not be helpful and I'm sorry... I had been on meds over 15 years at that time
Big hug for you and a blessing... xo
