I was just put on florinef for my POTS symtoms. It's suppose to help my blood volume and help me retain salt and water. I've read that steroids are not good for people with bipolar and can cause mood swings. It's a very small dose but I seem a little agitated on it. If anyone has any knowledge on the matter I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I had psychosis when I was on 100mg. of Prednisone.
I've been on 30mg. for poison ivy and flea bites and it didn't do anything.
What kind of dosage are we talking about?

So frustrated and probably just venting. The nurse from my cardiologist finally got back to me today and said he really wants you to try it for a few weeks. I then reminded her I was bi polar and while on the med the last 2 days I have felt like punching walls and crying non stop so I didn't take it today and those feelings have subsided.

I told her thankfully I happen to have an appointment with my p doc tomorrow. She told me to ask his opinion about me taking a steroid and to call her and let her know what he says so she can let the cardiologist know .Apparently my cardiologist forgot I was bi polar. I'm so frustrated!!! Thanks for letting me vent.

Steroids were NOT good for me. I had cortisone injections in my knee and thought I was losing my mind (or what there was left anyhow).

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
